We are seeking a qualified personnel and versatile Translator to join our team who could accurately translate written content from one language to another, ensuring the meaning and tone of the original message are preserved and meeting the expectations. The ideal candidate should possess good language proficiency, cultural awareness, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified personnel and versatile Translator to join our team who could accurately translate written content from one language to another, ensuring the meaning and tone of the original message are preserved and meeting the expectations. The ideal candidate should possess good language proficiency, cultural awareness, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

A degree or certification in Kiswahili, translation, linguistics, or a related field is a must have


Details about the role:

  • Translate a wide range of content, including marketing materials, product strings, customer support communications, legal content, and other relevant materials.

  • Conduct research to ensure the accuracy of business terms, jargon, and specialized vocabulary.

  • Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure quality and linguistic correctness.

  • Collaborate with other translators, editors, and subject matter experts to maintain consistency and coherence in translation projects.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Maintain knowledge of industry-specific terminology and stay up-to-date with language and cultural trends.

Requirements:

  • You have fluency in at least two languages, including the source language (English) and target language for translation (Swahili for Kenya).

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both the source and target

    languages.

  • You have strong cultural awareness and understanding of language nuances to accurately convey meaning.

  • You have attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate translations.

  • You have the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • You have good organizational and time management skills.

  • You need to have your own computer and functioning internet

A must have:

  • You are proficient in using translation software and other relevant tools.

  • You are familiar with industry-specific terminology and subject matter expertise is a plus.

  • Previous work experience in translation, or similar roles

  • A degree or certification in translation, linguistics, or a related field

Where And When You’ll Do It

  • 52 hrs/week
